I am stepping up my communication with my friends throughout the running community with regular blog posts here. I will post my group runs, promote upcoming races I will be timing, and share links to guidance for runners, race directors, and fans.
EVENTS
I am timing events the next three Saturdays:
May 30, 9 am — John 3:17 Miles for Smiles Run, Newport, John 3:17 Ministry
June 6, 8 am — Buschmann Memorial 4-Mile Classic, Downtown Batesville, Children’s advocacy
June 13, 8am — Bad Boy OFLP Splash n Dash, Batesville Community Center, Ozark Foothills Literacy Project
CONNECTIONS
Several friends have mentioned wanting to get back into running routines or to find running company. I coach privately and as a volunteer with the Batesville Pioneers in offseason cross country. I am happy to organize group runs, build a group contact hub, or schedule a summer workout series for beginners or lifers alike. Group size would be a gauge for any fee to cover snacks, fluids, and guidance. Follow my posts here and join me on my posted runs anytime you’re wanting company. Contact bruce@oktimingplus.com if you want your info added to a group contact hub or are interested in a group workout series.
RUNNING PLANS NEXT M-W-F
I plan to prepare for summer school cross country runs by starting Monday/Wednesday/Friday runs next week. With the 4-Mile Classic on hand June 6, I will do a course preview Monday, June 1, 7 pm from Batesville City Hall. The course map is available on the RunSignup page linked above.
Wednesday I will run at 8 am from the lower Community Center parking lot beside Rowe Lake.
Friday I will run at 8 am from the satellite lot at the front of UACCB Independence Hall.
For those who haven’t been to any of my posted runs, I run a 5K most every time I hit the road, and I make sure all have company and directions so no one is lost or alone throughout. I run longer with those who are willing or able; I usually have loops or landmarks for select-a-distance runs and I track back to check on any pacing slower.
I will be posting my group runs here going forward and linking to the posts in my message groups and Facebook pages.
See you on the roads!
