June 1 2026 Runs, Plans, Reports

This week’s Batesville group runs: Tonight, 6/1, 7 pm, 4-Mile Classic course preview from Batesville Municipal Building on Main. Forecast of possible thundershower, and a group running earlier at 6:30. I’ll wait out lightning/storm until 7:15 if it hits, then surrender and try same time tomorrow night.

Wednesday, 8 am from lower Community/Aquatic Center lot by Rowe Lake. It’s looking like a work day with some downhill repeats built in at 8:00/mile pace. Warmup jog, about 20 minutes of repeats/rests, cooldown jog. We’ll be in a loop location where everybody can be nearby if not doing the repeats.

Friday 8 am from Independence Hall front lot at UACCB on flat campus lanes

EVENTS

Saturday morning is the Buschmann Memorial 4-Mile Classic, starting at 8 am at the municipal building. I am timing the race and will have bathrooms open down the street at Fellowship Bible Church at the Landers. The church’s men’s ministry meets for their monthly breakfast and prayer session at 8:30, but they’ll be gathered beyond the bathroom hallway. I am on the calendar for the kids Splash N Dash June 13 at the Community Center and the Difani Memorial 5K at Eagle Mountain (until Riverside Park rebuild is complete) July 11. The Run to Win at RidgeRunner 5K is June 13 at the berry farm in Floral.

COACHING

Pioneer cross country will probably be gearing up soon as new basketball coaches have been hired and will again likely be the cross country head and assistant guiding my volunteering.

TIMING

I have new timing commitments for the fall calendar as well, with a Cedar Ridge high school meet in Newark in September; college meets at Williams Baptist and Lyon in September, October, and November; and Wolfe Street Foundation recovery support fundraiser in Little Rock in September.
