With a busy 2024 neatly wrapped up at OK Timing Plus, I will get the new year off to a running start at 9 a.m. with the free “Bury the Hatchet” 5K community fun run.
Tomahawk Chop, the “axe-citing” fun center of downtown Batesville, will open their doors with potluck snacks and drinks for refueling our running family and friends.
We will start our road run from their front door, run down Main to Marshall’s, then College to Central to the river. We turn around just short of the light at St. Louis and backtrack the route.
I will have my bright new race clock going but you’ll have to get your pictures or log your times yourselves. The route will be coned and corner turns marked.
I plan to run a bit uptempo since I won’t be tending the timing system, but I’ll backtrack when done so we make sure everybody has some company no matter what pace qualifies as their “fun run.”
Meet somebody new, greet old friends again, kick off another year of health and fitness, or reboot for a new and improved you! Whatever a running start means for you, get into it with this supportive running community!
Best wishes for you and yours in the coming year.
