July 2022 Update

Masters awards, Experience Independence 5K, July 4, 2022

April and I have had a busy year since our June 2021 launch.

We conducted a training camp with friends and family for a local race in September and then timed that race when it shifted to June this year. We coached a few runners as they began or intensified their pursuit of fitness goals. We advised a few first-time race directors as they sought activities to benefit their chosen cause, celebrate their community, or remember absent friends. We timed races from a mile to 10K and put on a 5K/10K ourselves.

April started an after-school running club at the elementary school where she teaches, and I volunteered with the junior/senior high track and cross country teams.

We are already booked for races in September, October, and November, with repeats of 2022 events penciled in for February, March and June 2023.

We both won Masters prizes at our local Experience Independence 5K as you see.

Safe to say, we can chalk it all up as “good times.”
